The Phrase "Every Waking Moment"

When I first heard this said, I was inspired.

There’s no doubt that Elon Musk is an interesting study. Some hate him, some love him. Twitter controversies aside, this is a very motivated human being and that’s if he’s human at all. His accomplishments are vast and a motivational seminar could easily be constructed from any one of the goals he’s achieved.

In an interview about the challenges of the Model 3 Tesla and his work habits at the plant, he said; “I spent every waking moment on the manufacturing process and know more about manufacturing than anyone on the planet.”  That’s impressive!

I was and still am inspired by the words “Every Waking Moment.” While it might not take all of our waking moments to reach our goals, to go above and beyond, that’s what’s required. That’s what Elon Musk has done. How many hats did he wear? How many hats do you wear?

In our industry, not everyone wears a marketing hat, and it’s easy to get sucked into marketing that’s full of ‘bells and whistles’ designed for retail marketing that doesn’t work for high-ticket, non-impulse-purchase, relationship-based marketing to past clients.
